Forums - Gaming Discussion - I accidentally turned Shepard into Russell Crowe

Yeah, it's basically what I said. It's mostly the hair giving the impression of it being Russell Crowe. While it gives a good Maximus impression, he doesn't really look like this guy...

Oddly enough, he'll have the exact same "Maximus" hair in the upcoming Robin Hood movie. I guess it was a popular style for a while.

Of course it's darker, but if you can't see facial details you have major monitor settings issues. When I get back to the ship I'll take another picture for those of you contrast-challenged people out there.

Don't worry, I just blasted the hell out of my settings so everything looks like Easter pastels and I can see him. It started to lighten up at about 80%. I usually keep it at a 50/50 split, so it keeps the colors rich. It looks kinda like him I guess, but I think it has more to do with the hair style and facial hair you chose than his actual features. If you switched his look away from Gladiator and more to The Insider or A Beautiful Mind it wouldn't show a big resemblance. He might pass for Gerard Butler though, although I would hate you for subjecting me to more Gerard Butler.

Updated, let me know what you think now.

Correction: it's a good action hero Russell Crowe... he's not just Maximus

If ever there were a movie screaming "trying to get lightning to strike twice in the same place" it's this one. I'm sure some fans of Gladiator will appreciate it's pseudo sequel though.

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.

Indeed I am one of them.

Edit: Also updated it once more from a much better angle. Should have just waited for a conversation in the first place hehe.

lol awesome.

Quick question-- I don't like the look of my current Shepard but I also don't want to start my Mass Effect 1 game over for the 50th time. When I import my save from Mass Effect when I finally finish it, will I have to keep the look my Shepard or will I get to remake him?

Near the beginning of the game you get to give him plastic surgery. My ME1 Shepard was butt ugly. Definitely no comparison with the sexiness of Russell Crowe.

This begs the question, what happens if you do give him surgery, then run into old party members later in the game.  Will they notice/comment?  That would be awesome...

Unfortunately they (and everyone else in the universe, since you were insanely famous) immediately recognize you as Shepard.

That sucks, seems to me like Bioware really missed a golden opportunity there...

I honestly don't mind. I think it could have gotten annoying if Shepard had to explain his different face everytime he ran into someone.

It would get old if every character did it, but I think just once would have been funny.  I wouldn't want a big, theatrical scene about it either, just a quick, low-key comment that I could chuckle to myself about.

Thanks for the updated picture.

there is more of a resemblance indeed. I think the nose is a bit large though... that or it's just that I don't like computer generated faces in general :p
Besides that, has he ever done a Sci Fi movie? I can't recall any...
