1.2 million systems is decent, but almost all of those people own PS3s.

To make matters worse, all the mid-tier development teams are no longer considering the system for Japan-only releases.

I wonder how many Japanese 360 owners will pay for a HDD (if they dont have one), then pay for live and monster hunter subscription.

I think MS would have done good with this had they not had to pay for both.

what I would like to know is whether MS has bought these games as exclusives or whether these games are timed exclusives :S

I also can't believe Sony let MS have Monster Hunter. Maybe they think or know FFXIV will kill MH in sales and therefor they let MS have it.

MS need to secure one of the other territories. They lost EU, Japan they never had and by the looks of things, Sony is starting to do really well in America. wouldn't it be more feasible to concentrate on a market where they stand a chance at least? they should invest more in EU and USA.

Show their appreciation by giving more to the USA market and give more to the EU market. This is where the 360 is more likely to shine. Japan loves its gadgets and 360 has by far the least to offer... until Natal comes out that is.

You don't need gold membership to play MMO's on xbox. And PS3 has as many FPS as Xbox now tbh! It is just Sony gets forgiven in Japan when they fuck up, where xbox doesn't. But then again US seems to forgive the xbox aswell!

For Monster Hunter Frontier all you have to pay for is the monthly subscription fee for the game. You would get a month of Xbox Live free.

well for monster hunter fronteir for the 360 microsoft giving away xbox live gold for free if you get a subscription for the 360 version of the game

I wonder where it would leave MS if the games they secured or devs they got support from didnt make their money back in Japan.

You are right to an extent, but you have to realise, no one thought the 360 will sell a million units + in japan and it has. the generation of gamers is changing. this gen 360 might get 1million+ in japan, next gen it mite have 3million+ and so forth.

MS need to do what nintendo did, secure a anime which is doing well and then create a studio in japan which blasts out sequel after sequel off that game.

In fact Sony should do that too. I am sure Sony had something to do with Bleach, I cannot see why theyhaven't made a nice hack and slash game out of it. It could be epic if done right :p

Guys the PS3 is getting Monster Hunter 4/1, the true sequel in the series. This is just a port from an old PC MMO the 360 is getting. Just felt I needed to clear that up before more misinformed comments arise, the PS3 is getting the true sequel to Monster Hunter exclusively.

Do you think if Monster Hunter does well on the 360 that they would consider a 360 version?
