Should I go ahead and start playing the Mass Effect series on my laptop which most likely will not be powerful enough to play Mass Effect 3?  And not be able to carry over my save games.  (I have no reason to invest in a powerful gaming laptop in the future because I only need MS Office for work.)   Or wait for the eventual PS3 port for Mass Effect series?

I'd wait for PS3, but I doubt that will happen, so go for 360. This game really feels like a console game to me (well the first anyways) and I don't think I'd enjoy it as much on pc.

Mass Effect 2 on the PS3? must have missed the announcement.....It's hard to believe Mass Effect 2 coming to the PS3 if they haven't released ME1 for it, or announced it(maybe a double pack collection set!!!(inner fanboy thought)

I honestly wouldn't hold my breath on a PS3 version. If your laptop isn't powerful enough, and you really want to play the series (which looks awesome) just invest in a 360.

I'm definitely not investing on a xbox360, and it seems that EA/Bioware is not denying a PS3 port. This Geoff Keighley character says it's coming to PS3, but EA/Bioware can't say anything about it.

In your case? Wait for Mass Effect 2 on the PS3.

Wait for a possible Playstation 3 version. You will need a decently powerful Laptop/PC to play Mass Effect 2.

I decided not to go for the PC version since it has no joystick support what so ever.

Mass Effect 2 requirements are not that bad but you may as well wait...unless you have nothing to play now.
