My 7yr old bro's DS is now in 2 pieces, why? because he's an idiot but we digress. The warrenty has already been called into action once because the loose flipping mechanism made the top screen cut out sometimes but now it's in two pieces held together by the tiny wire that connects the two screens together when playing games...so yeah...any ideas?

Always best to ask.... Just call Nintendo.

If the call centre people are unsure, you can send it in... and if they want to charge you you don't have to accept, you can have it sent back and get it repaired somewhere else, or buy a new one.... or whatever.

1st you should call nintendo. They don't repair it. Your screwed

the warranty covers production defects and abnormal faults caused by normal wear and tear.  unless you have a good lie for why the DS is in two that fits into either of those catgeories, save yourself the embarrasment as well as take this opportunity to teach your brother about the repercussions of being an idiot instead of trying to pass the responsibility onto Nintendo.

Still better to ask first though... I believe I remember someone on these forums saying one of their friends or siblings stuffed an SD card into the disc slot of the Wii and it was repaired for free. (I may have mislaid some facts but that is how I remember it)

Is it still working? If so, glue is cheap.

I dont think it was your brother fault, the original DS phat wasnt so durable, my cousin broke one too in the same way and i think there are plenty of cases like that, i think you should call

That Nintendo DS is not going to be covered under warranty since it's physical damage. Now if it's a DS Lite or a DSi it may still be under warranty so you'll get a discount on the repair. Otherwise you'll need to pay the full repair price. Call Nintendo and they can help you.
