If you've owned a PC for more than three days you should be ashamed of yourself for saying that...

If you've lived through the 1980's for more than three days you should be ashamed of YOUR self sir!

When most people think of "retro gaming," they think of NES/SNES/N64/MasterSystem/Genesis/TurboGrafx-16/NeoGeo/Commodore64/MSX/Arcade games, not PC games.  Most people don't know about emulation and piracy, so those don't count.

Of course they count, the PC reigns supreme on retro games. Silly man!

New young generations of gamers need console to start with.
Its best choice for parents, people dont wont kids to be sitting and getting exaited about head shots in fps, they wont them to have fun. Add movments, wii fit, mario and u get perfect choice to start with.
Other then that are female gamers, my girlfriend loves wii, she dosnt care about HD, she gets from wii what what she remember as fun when she was playing snes.
Ps3 and 360 are mostly for older gamers, u wouldnt buy it for 10y old.

Disruption
Blue Ocean
HD consoles overshooting the market

If you mean emulators, that doesn't count. Because otherwise the PSP, Xbox, 360, PS2 (with HDD), PS3 (if that's done yet), DS (with R4), and Wii count.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

1. Sony
2. Microsoft

Everything else is secondary.

Of course they do, which is my point. No matter how many retro games you launch/re-release on the consoles they'll never hold a candle to the PC in this regard. To say otherwise is very strange to me.

Why do people always disregard the PC as a gaming platform in every thread in here? To me, it is still a vastly superior gaming platform and has been since the late 80's (I'm not trying to coerce you into thinking the same but the utter disregard for any and all things PC in here to make other platforms stand out and shine is ludicrous imo).
