Specifically, they do a follow up game reusing the assets. Now Crystal Bearers obviously isn't the hit that FFX was, but what I am suggesting is an action RPG in line with the past full CC releases. It can have Motion+ for attacking, and eve spells, and be multiplayer.
And it might not even be that hard to include multiplayer, and not because the graphics aren't impressive to the HD spoiled. The graphics could be more detailed, but they were made for a streaming game (not on the scale of GTA, though), instead of closed areas. So if the areas were readjusted to have a full loading screen in between them (which still wouldn't be too long, since this is the Wii), then the system resources just might have enough for multiplayer.
My ideal would be split screen for two player, and a single screen for 3 and 4 players and online 2 or more (yes, this would have online, but local is most important). How the players stay on the same screen I don't know. As long as it isn't a rehash of the miasma... that is unless this ends up being a remake of the first game, which would be cool as well. Bearers has a distrubing lack of Selkies in fur bikinis.
Anyway, do you think this could work? You could still have the control like Bearers if you are using a telekenesis power, and using a weapon would of course be some of the swordfighting goodness that the Wii deserves more of.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
