From what I've read on gaf, their is some credibility to this rumor. However, an announcement around GDC implies a 2010 release, which is not a very good idea, imo.

It would imply a dev cycle just shy of two years for the game. It'll mean a shorter dev cycle than even Resistance 2. Guerrilla aren't Naughty Dog, and I don't think that's enough time to pump out a game worthy of being called Killzone 3. Inifinity Ward are the only guys I can think of that can pump out a truly awesome FPS in only two years. Even Bungie take three years to release a flagship Halo.

I hope they don't rush this game just to get it out by the holidays. Of course, Sony has shown they aren't afraid of delays by any means, so I doubt that'll be the case.

I don't see any problems with this game releasing later this year. With what I've read from the developers on the Killzone website and other sources. They are definitely doing there best to give us a very good experience in Killzone 3.

As of now, Sony has no exclusives scheduled for late 2010 to go up against Halo: Reach and Fable III. I fully expect either Resistance 3 or Killzone 3 to come out this November so there may be some truth to this rumor. I just hope the game isn't rushed!

Let us ponder the possibilities here...

We have Insominac working on a game, Resistance 3? Possibly...but then we have the rumors of Killzone 3. You do not want to overcrowd your Holiday lineup with the same genre. One or the other will be released this Holiday. Let us wait and see what happens :D

i think we have to ask how long kz3 has been in development for. It could very well be that the development began at the end of 2008, before the release of kz2. if this is a possibility, releasing it at the end of the year may give it a 2 year dev time.

I do hope it is not a rush job, but my biggest worry will be GG concentrating on mp and making the sp smaller. After looking at mw2 sp, mp seems to be becoming more important to the new age gamers.

I think it will be a xmas release. I think Sony has probably realised kz2 would have possibly sold a lot better had they bundled it or released it at xmas.

i just hope between now and q4, sony bundle the crap out of kz2 and drop the rrp in the usa as they have done here in the uk.

I wish GG would cr8 another new IP tho so they have 2 IP's they can switch each year like Insomniac games.

they will need a dev team big enough to do this as well the monies :S

Anyone hear what HHG had to say about R3? alledgedly, there will be 2single player campaings or a single player campaign that can be played from 2 perspectives; nathan hale's and the guy who seems to shoot him in the end.

it would be awesome if GG does something similar and allows us to play as a helghast for the kz3. i would defo be interested in seeing and hearing the other side of the story! imo, i think the helghast were wronged and got bumbed good and hard by the so called good guys. It would be interesting to see a new spin to the story lol
