People hope. These kind of lists always have games in them that wont make it out. Its the same on all sites.

I just read one of these lists in PC Gamer of January 2008. They listed 61 games for the year 2009, but when I checked, only 31 of them had really made it out in 2009.

i think that overall nominees will be GOW3, reach, metroid, zelda (if it releases), last gaurdian, and starcraft 2.

Well like I did in the Wii one, I'm basing my judgment purely off credibility and critical success of the people making it. Thus it's no surprise that I voted for Last Guardian, if of course it comes out this year.
