I did not listen to it fully. But since "IGN had a whole podcast consisting entirely of wii bashing" I guess you don't have to listen all of it, right? Really now?
ffs

Uh, NJ5 said in his post you replied to: The bashing picks up pace as the show goes along, in the beginning it's quite mild.

Uh, that is why I skipped a lot from the beginning. And I did not hear any bashing, which is what the podcast was supposed to be full of. Uh uh.

They literaly said that Wii owners were blind fanboys. That isn't bashing in your book?
For some reason I immensely enjoyed myself in this thread, and actually kinda like you guys now lol. Don't mind me, I'm just weird.

Well, obviously they did not mean every single wii owner. But I can see their point when looking at some people who post on various forums. The same thing could be said for some 360/PS3 owners too.
And to clarify, I don't see that as bashing of the console. Just the fanboys. :)
I've always liked IGN. Frequented it often. However the staff there have never - ever, been half as professional or important as they think they are. They are not journalists. I doubt a single one of them ever attended a Journalism course. They are fanboys, through and through, albeit a more professional breed of fanboys than most other sites.
Other than their annoying podcasts it's never bothered me much, except for the last few months where they have really jumped the shark and lost touch with their Wii audience. Nintendo has gone somewhere they can't follow and they hate it, they hate that it's changing the name of the game, they hate the Wii fans for allowing it and they don't and don't want to understand.
I feel their pain though. I do. For these guys are not journalists that report the news with a worldly indifference and a smile. They are fanboys. And they hate the direction all sides of the industry are going and for all their self-importance there's not a damn thing they can do about it except whine and bitch and complain - and I'm sick of it.
Report the news IGN. Do your reviews IGN. And be professional for once or fade away into obscurity.

I just checked it out, in the first 20 minutes they're pretty much ranting about offtopic stuff (which in itself is kind of stupid, since it's supposed to be a podcast about Nintendo).
Anyway, if you're not willing to listen to it, don't comment on it either...
For example, they said NSMB:Wii is a rehash of the DS version.
edit - I meant offtopic of course.

True.
NeoGAF actually banned VGChartz.

What, for real? How is it banned, like, are people forbidden to use the name or something?
