As true as it may be, that's not something you'll want to say.

Hell, if I were in his team I would be so pissed right now >_>

Yeah, even if he really did do everything creatively, that's just a shitty thing to do to your team.  What a horrible work environment that must be.

That's like local professional sports team having a super star player and him coming out that it's him that wins the games.

I honestly dont think they care all too much.

A. because its most likely true

B. Because they are working alongside a gaming legend

C. They are hard at work completing the game.

this is coming from someone who does not own a psp. has no intentions of owning a psp. only played mgs2 and hated it.

Seriously twesterm your making it sound like he is torturing his team

And don't link this to their working environment, I doubt that team could make some of the best games of all time if the "working environment" was as lethal as your trying to make it sound

No, a quote like really does perfectly convey his attitude towards the people that work for him.  It's all about Kojima and nobody else.  It's shitty to put that much work into something and then have someone come along and take that kind of credit.

If he actually had some respect for his team, it would call it a team effort and that would make his team feel awesome and boost morale.  Statements like that only serve to boost his ego and crush team morale.

Just like my sports analogy.  I'm sure that superstar feels awesome and he probably is the person that brings the fans to the game and was a big player, but it's the team that wins the game, not him.

But didn't Ryan Payton play a huge role in the development of MGS4. Wasn't the gameplay basically his idea, kojima in his quote is talking about MGS: Peace Walker (the article doesn't make that clear but its pretty obvious int he context).

Even then as kojima is so awesome & made the best game ever for me, he is allowed to say such things.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I'm sorry... but if my boss takes all the credit for his work I couldn't give two shits. If he did a good job and deserves to be recognized let the guy talk about what he did. It has nothing to do with the working environment. I have a healthy working environment. My boss is nice to me. My boss lets me put in requests for time off. My boss lets me pick up extra hours. My boss gives me breaks... Will I be upset if he brags about his paperwork being accurate? Will I be mad if he brags about productivity being up since he gained controll? No. Will I be mad if he says "I did this" and points to a aisle I built? Yes.

wow, he's very modest
but if Miyamoto says somthing like this everyone would bash him...

And then you'd also have people come along and love him for it. There's no difference here.

Unlike Kojima, I think Miyamoto is one of the most awesomest people ever but if he came out and said something stupid like that I'd be pretty upset at him and lose a lot of respect for him.

I mean really, what do you think a statement like that does for the morale of any team he's on?  Or any team he had been on?  If you did anything creative on any of those projects it's suddenly all him and you might as well have been a mindless drone doing his bidding.

He very well may have had the high concept for the Metal Gear series and had A LOT of creative control over everything, but I would be willing to bet that most ideas didn't come from him and saying so shows how much respect he has towards other people.

What an inconsiderate arrogant douche.

It not like Kojima is doing all the work.  I am sure he has final say about story and gameplay elements but other people also helped creating the series into what it is today.  It is the same thing with the Final Fantasy series.  FFXIII for example, was led by Motoru Toriyama with a lot of help from Kitase, Nojima(I think?), and Nomura.

I was going to agree with Twesterm until I saw this. Can't argue with what you said
