halo 3 only passed 10 million, something all main gran turismo have, 50 + million selling game, same for FF,KH 1-2 sold over 10 million.

Not to mention the 2 Gears game were such a huge advertisement for the Unreal Engine and have secured a tonne of money in licensing fees due to how great the games looked. Gears was effectively used like ID used to use the Quake engine, they make money off the original games but the engine is where the bucks are made in the future!

Also...so Halo 3 and Halo ODST JUST passed 10 million...hmmm...seems like I need to check the charts again. Also, I hadn't realized that GT5 Prologue and GT2 had already passed 10 million each...I'll have to check the charts for those again as well.

Ill say this. Some titles are better off being exclusive. Why? The focus on them from the fanbase is so much stronger then other titles. Gears of War was clearly one of these titles. Did you see the legs on the first one? If it was multiplat it would be a failed IP. Did you see the opening of the second one? Clearly being exclusive helped it out in the long run. MGS4 is another example. The hype for that title went through the roof. Why? Because it was an exclusive it outsold the previous entry on the 120+ Million Userbase.

You can't trash your business partners that would not be a good idea for anyone - who knows they could be in the process of negotiating an exclusive deal for a 3rd gears game as we speak... I'm sure Pachter was saying he's thinking Epic must be upset assuming the deal was multi-game, he probably has no idea what the deal is, or whether later deals were brokered for the sequels, it could have been pretty substantial.
Of course the guys going to say that when put on the spot. This doesn't prove Pachter's 'speculation' wrong.
