You do realize its not all about slashing... Where u slash matters... For instance if u have ten monsters with clubs u can dismember the arms with clubs so that they are unable to attack u from significant range... Then u can take out one of their feet and they have a hard time moving. Watch the demo videos clearly and. You can see these actions and how it affects certain enemies
Between the special boxart color and having a nicely made portion of Nintendo's japan website deticated to this game, they seem serious about promoting it in Japan. Hopefully it's the same case in the west.

Location is just one factor. If one gets too much traffic, no matter how much bandwidth is available, it can slow it down. Or there could be some issues with the servers (why the site gets routine maintainence notices).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

It also depends on who your service provider is. If you're browsing from school or work, youtube is a common target for traffic shaping so that more important network activity doesn't get choked off by streaming media.

This game won't need commercials, it's just one of those games.
By nature this will be huge, if anything it will need anti-marketing to try to keep the sales low.
Not sure if nature can produce enough silicon.
