It is not that I love google but ... in a way ... all the moves that can kill the MonStruous beast are fine to me ... so I hope it is not true.

I think that says it all.

I don't think most people will care so long as they still get quick and accurate search results.  If all I want is a coke it doesn't matter if I get it at a Burger King or a McDonalds, the product is the same.

Windows Mobile on iPhone confirmed :D

just kidding. I like Bing btw. It is a very good search engine, especially for videos. Picture search is a google win though.

regular search: no difference.

But Bing always has a nice wallpaper

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Bing is pretty but useless.

the only winner here will be Apple.

Can Google really be a monopoly? I don't really see any barriers to entry, and any usual stuff about monopolies setting prices=Marginal Cost and Dead Weight Loss... since it's all free XD

The only thing I would fear is censorship, but right now Google is fighting China so... and again, not barriers to entry.

Yes, Google really does have a monopolistic majority of the internet search market, and yes, there are enourmous barriers to entry. Running a search engine requires a tremendous capital investment (Apple's data center which is rumoured might be for such a search engine is a $1 billion investment), and extremely skilled technical labour. There's a reason why only companies like Microsoft and Apple can even think of challenging Google's position in this market.

The searches are free, the ads aren't. Like television and most other media, Google's real customers are the advertisers. Google's product is the eyeballs of people searching the internet.

I think its good that iPhone has Google as the main search engine. I mean Windows only came with Internet Explorer up until just recently. iPhone is hot, so is Google. Go ahead and use eachother, aslong as it benefits Me!

I half assed the reading of this article, but my opinion still stands.

The article barely mentions the android, and considering how much later it came out than the iphone and all the providers supporting it, it has a good chance of quickly eclipsing the iphone.

I would be surprised if this happened.

Office on the Mac is a no brainer because it is the market leading office suite.

Not so bing. But there is time to improve.

Searches for "how to remove bing" are pretty popular.

There are those who are members of the Microsoft church that hate any company that is in direct competition with their deity. This is sad.

I for one would love a much closer market share between the leading companies.
