So why is Shadow Complex also exlcusive then?

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Hes kinda right.

Though I'm sure they were quite compensated and don't care.

He's wrong for the very reason everyone on here constantly states when they mention the PS3. Ultimately a multiplatform game has to make sacrifices that an exclusive title doesn't, I very much doubt Gears would have been the success it is being multiplatform originally. That being said I have no problem if they release Gears 3 on PS3 as long as they don't mess around trying to get equality in both versions, just get the 360 one done with its engine that will be tuned to perfection and then spend the time to get the PS3 version released afterwards.

One last thing I'd point out is that lag is a huge issue in Gears due to crap netcode implementation, I very much doubt given 2 networks to take into consideration the mp would have ever taken off it was worse than it is now due to not having the time to tweak both versions properly. Gears with a good host is heaven, when you get a bad one you pray to lose quickly and get the lagsaw out.

If FF can go multiplat why not Gears. FFVII also become very succssful because of Sony's marketing. I dont see why Microsoft effort on marketing can be used as an ecxuse for them to keep it as exclusive franchise. Same for Metal Gear.

Yeah, I'm sure Epic regrets signing on with the biggest software mover (attach rate) this gen and a measly 11.5 million sales total on the 360 alone. Its also on PC but hasn't sold a whole lot and I don't think it would have fared much better on the PS3.
For me, the Gears games are titles that make you want to buy the 360, along with others of course, and it would have lost much of it's appeal if it went PS360, there would also be slight downgrades in visuals to accommodate for multiplatform (or multi console) development.

He will see that he is wrong when GOW3 is announced only for xbox. :)

Gears of War 2: Sigma, confirmed?

Until Epic say they have regrets this is just opinion.

Sure, if they could now dump Gears on PS3 then from a pure business perspective that would make sense - even 3 million in sales across both titles, which would surely be likely, would deliver big chunk of easy profit.

But Gears got huge backing from MS and marketing, and I think it helped it being exclusive initially.

So I doubt Epic regret anything.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

if gears were to ever come on the PS3 it will be placed in a dual layered Bluray. imagine 2 gears in one disc
