I am getting tired of whinging threads however. Seriously, it's like as soon as there is a burst of good news from somewhere, somebody has to go and create a thread to remind us all there is a lot more whining to be done.

most of the "mario" games you're talking about play NOTHING alike, only one i can think of is SMG & SMG2, the rest are from different genres, how is that bad? If we had like five main mario games, then it would get kinda boring but we don't.

we've usually only gotten ONE main mario title each gen, that doesn't sound like a lot to me. in fact it sounds like not enough, compare that to other franchises with have several main games out in a gen (like sonic). i think we've been very fortunate this gen, we've gotten an extra 2d & 3D mario, which are both very different games and in my opinion are both excellent games too

making spinoffs has nothing to do with making the main games, they don't have the same gameplay style so how can you get annoyed?

The Mario games this gen have been absolute money (Outside of Mario Party). So.....MORE Mario please!

Um, this isn't a case of, say, Capcom milking Street Fighter to death in the mid-90s w/ repeated, marginal, updates on SNES and Genesis (and PCE in Japan)--almost all of these games are radically different with the only common denominator being that they share a plumber w/ a red hat as an avatar, so why would anyone care?? (Unless they have it out for red-capped plumbers, in which case you need professional help.)

Don't act like Mario is the only guy you're seeing too much of. At least those Mario games include platforming, racing, RPGs, sports, mini-games, and board games.

The first XBox had 2 Halo games, and the 360 is having its 4th Halo game come out this year. They've built up their mascot successfully, and the milking is accelerating. Halo is even trying to expand its reach into other genres, just like Mario did. Already made the jump from FPS to RTS.

If Sony had a mascot these days, I'm sure they'd be milking the hell out of it too.

Sega and Capcom are even milking their mascots, and Activision is milking everything under the sun.

i dont disagree with you, and i dont think mario will come too often to the wii after SMG2. At best, i might see a sequel to the mild selling Paper mario for wii(even so i doubt it, as it didnt get stellar ninty sales). Maybe a couple of sport games.

Well if you don't want the games don't buy them. Anyway your wish is most likely granted. All the possible mario sequals have been released. Don't know what else they could release after Mario Galaxy 2. Mario party 9?
