When I think it's cheap then a month later they announce an "Improved" slim model for 100$ less.

This gen I waited for GTAIV and MGS4 to get the PS3, but I think that as long as the PS4 is backwards compatible with PS3 games I will get it day one!

I'm tired of being on the bleeding edge. I'm going to wait this time around until there's a strong reason to upgrade.

After the first or second price drop (for any new home console actually). Enough time for the platform to get initial problems solved and to get a good amount of games. I my opinion, €300 was the sweet spot this generation.

Day one. I'm not gonna wait like I did with the Playstation 3! I have a feeling the PS4 is going to blow my mind.

i bought the ps and ps2 pretty close to launch.

the ps3's price scared me so i got the 60 gb when they announced that it was going to be discontinued... and they lopped off a huge chunk of the price. i still got it first any of the other consoles this gen.

[Edit] sorry, back to the post. so, like the ps3 generation - i'll get it after the first price drop or a bit more unless there is an incredible game that i must have. it will be the first console i purchase for the next generation.

two years after. $300 price point, possible slim version, and better games. And I want PS3 flawless backwards compatiblity or I won't buy one ever.

i assume if they end up using the cell again then it will be backwards compatible... if not then bc is out the window for sure (if they can't get the price down with the Emotion Engine then they certainly won't get it down with the cell inside).
