PS3 owners should take this as a blessing. It might end up saving them a bit of money. Don't get me wrong I know theres a lot of COD fans out there but how many of us have bought COD map packs before and only played them for an hour or so. Maybe the maps hype will be eaten up by the Xbox 360 side when it releases.

I doubt MS paid much if anything for this.

The vast majority of the DLC money made from this title will be made through Live regardless, and the Xbox 360 has been wonderful to Activision in general.  Doing this would be worth it for maintaining a good relationship with Microsoft alone.

You must be kidding yourself, if there were no money involved (from microsoft) then why not release it for both consoles = more profit? I reiterate that microsoft paid for this DLC, why else would a company produce DLC for only one company (at least timed exclusive $$$)?

If you read the full post I made, instead of reacting to only the first sentence, you will find the reason.

Activision has a highly profitable relationship with Microsoft. They could easily have made this decision to further solidify that, knowing that any PS3 MW2 owner that already has the game will still buy the packs if they originally intended too.

Eh. Not many people will care either way because they already own either the 360 or PS3 version...

BTW: the map Karachi is an exact copy of a popular old counterstrike map made at least 6 years ago... after playing that version for so many hours it always trips me out to see it in modern graphics.

Come on, just because you posted that Acitivison will make more money from Microsoft with the DLC does not mean they will not make a good profit from the PS3 fan base! Ask yourself the question why only release the DLC for Xbox 360 first, then I'm sure you will find the answer. 

that seems both naive and against Bobby's better nature.  MW2 sells more on 360 but millions on PS3 too - I doubt Activision would simply delay what is sure to be a huge chunk of revenue from PS3 owners just to be pals with MS.

Activision is a business, and a particularly hard nosed one at that.  I'm very, very sure they extrated something from MS, from money to vendor funding to advantagous terms.

Now, for a short period of exclusivity I doubt we're talking huge numbers, but it won't have been from the goodness of Kotick's heart either.

But it is equally naive not to understand the true value of the world's largest software company and the holder of the largest two gaming platforms viewing you as a reliable, friendly and preferential partner.
