Well, I figure the rape thing is cause for one.

But if you didn't use a c-boy, birth control, or the morning after pill, you better keep that baby!

So basically we're telling the people who are too incompetent and immature to use protection that they have to raise a child...?

You don't use it*, you choose it**.

*= protection

**= da baby

Not my fault.

You just completely ignored my point...

Yea, they do have to raise a child. They know what the consequences of intercourse are. I have no sympathy.

Not even for the child who is being raised by parents too damned incompetent and immature to use birth control?

Even the child.

I think the best reason for the legality of abortion is the well being of the people who get them.

It's not a binary thing, just because it's banned doesn't mean it would stop.

The thing is Abortion isn't just a decision made on a whim, it is one of the hardest decisions for a person to make. If someone gets an abortion they must be very determined to not have the baby and a lot of people would be just as determined even if it was banned.

This means that abortions would be forced underground. No longer will it be a case of a professional medical procedure taken place by someone who's qualified in a sterile environment with the proper equipment. If it was forced underground, then it would become a dangerous procedure, those desperate to get an abortion because they are not ready would also be risking their own life.

And people called me callous!

To be fair, Savior, there is an easy out for parents that should be taken that doesn't involve abortion, or raising a child under squalid conditions....

Adoption.

You know, that thing that used to be really popular. Instead of killing babies, we used to give them to competent, childless couples. It tended to work fairly well at addressing the problem of unwanted children.

Maybe adoption is something we should look into again? After all, there are millions of childless couples that want children - far more than the number of women that get abortion for reasons not involving medical necessity, rape and involve financial or social issues.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Exactomundo. Why not just give he/she up for adoption? Better than killing an innocent child for a rookie nookie mistake.
