Numbers will increase greatly before release.

I see no reason to pre-order any games, the only time I have ever pre-ordered a game was when I pre-ordered Mario 64 along with the N64 back in the day! I've never not been able to walk into a store the day a game comes out and pick it up! The game should do just fine!

Anything under 5 million is fail to me. Cuz Wada promised me it would outsell FFVII.

All jokes aside, there's little way to guage how the numbers will turn out for this title. People tried to guage FFIX, X and XII based on previous popularity and performance of the series and were all wrong, because the consoles weren't the same as previous titles and the fanbase for the series kept getting smaller each title. A conservative estimate would put a pre-order draw for the US at around 500-700k while it could get up to 1.5m. With a series as random and front-loaded as this, its anyones guess.

why're everyone's expectations so low for the 360 version in the US?
I would think the 360 sales would be well within at least 75-80% of the PS3 numbers.

Well, I'm waiting for pre-order bonuses to be announced before I place my pre orders.

Rumors that the 360 version has missing content (eventhough it doesn't), more hype for the PS3 version (over 5 years worth), the perception that the PS3 has better graphics (which many FF fans buy the game for the graphics), etc.

Man the game is two months away it will be 2mil launch easy.

Including both PS3 & 360.
