If it's free then do it.
If it's not maybe buy a new system lol.

It's just that simple.

Mass Effect is such an epic game that it made my console rrod twice. Since Mass Effect 2 has twice as much epic in it I would imagine your 360 would blow its brains out when you insert it into the disk drive. Your going to need a strong healthy 360 to tackle the awesome of Mass Effect 2 so you should send it in.

Besides if your really worried their going to send it back force it to rrod before you send it in. Although I doubt they will say anything since their probably just going to swap the insides out like they do with every repair.

The definitive evidence that video games turn people into mass murderers

Shit now I'm worried for my 360.
I never thought about how the awesomness of ME2 could affect my 360.

Now that everyone is on the subject. My 360 disc tray won't eject, I have to pry it open with a butter knife to get my games out, which I don't believe is healthy for it. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not buying even one more 360 so I'm hoping this doesn't turn into a serious problem with so many incredible games coming soon. Right now this is the only reason why I'm renting instead of buying Mass Effect 2 but I would much rather buy it! :(

Why don't you just take the HDD out and buy an arcade? I mean, surely you can afford $199 (or whatever it now costs in the US), no?

Can I? Yes. Will I? Absolutely not. Why would I spend $200 to "fix" a broken console when I own so many others that I can buy games for. I have the money, but I'm not willing to throw it away when I can put it to better use. Maybe if you were on your third 360 you would understand but I'll be damned if I buy one more. A cheap repair? Yes. But if it costs me more then the price of a retail game to fix it I'd rather just buy a game for one of my other systems. I really, REALLY want to play all of the great 360 exclusives this year, moreso then any year but I'll be damned if I continue to dance to the tune Microsoft is playing one more time. Why this is acceptable to so many people as a solution and why Microsoft gets away with this shit is beyond me. I've never had any other console of mine break except for my first psp which wasn't due to the hardware and yet I'm on my third 360. It's unacceptable.

I don't see why he should have to buy a new one. If you can get it fixed for free do that. Phone up and find out.
Is there anything blocking the the tray from opening? You can take the bezel of the front of the tray. Maybe that'll help?

i would ship it in since theyre fixing it for free! Once the warranty ends its like $100

Long Live SHIO!

Thankfully, it hasn't quit on me yet, and also thankfully, I'm still covered by the warranty. But whatever, it was a mere suggestion. Your money, your choice, I won't argue.
