So I was over on the official ps3 website and saw in the forums that Target is closing out the 250 gig for 244.99. I thought awesome! I will buy a 2nd ps3 (I own a 60 gig, yes still working. lol) and so I looked up the availability of the 250 gig on the Target website, unfortunately the site shows no availabity at any of the stores anywhere near I live, heck not even available anywhere remotely close. I then realized that at my local walmart I havent even seen a 120 or 250 gig ps3 in weeks. Can somebody explain to me why that no ps3's seem to be around for sale. Also, can it really be possible that the 250 gig ps3 would even be a close out item as of now. I mean 55.00 less than the 120 gig, really? I understand that the ps3 has began to sell much better than in the past, but come on. The sales couldnt have increased so much that it is nowhere to be found.

I saw a lot of both versions at the Target and the Best Buy where I live (Burnsville, MN).

seems strange to me that the ps3 had been lagging behind the other consoles for so long and now that it is achieving success sony wouldnt be prepared enough to keep them availabe.

low stock in to but if you want one you will easily find one.

Online stores have had no stock on hands for weeks. Sony had better get a move on it with MAG, FFXIII, Heavy Rain, and God of War 3 ready to push consoles.

Sony is likely struggling to meet demand. They did sell nearly 6 million PS3's over the past few months. Where the PS3 was at before August 09, Sony probably forgot how strong the PlayStation brand was when around the $300 mark.

obviously even Sony are surprised at just how well the PS3 Slim turned out

yes it is.it has been out stocksince christmas.Almost all retailers are out of stock.Amazon gets a stock for 20mins and then they are out again.
