Yoda whipping out hte lightsaber was probably the best moment in the original trilogy

Anakin killing Dooku was among the worst

Eh, I respectfully disagree.  I hated the Yoda/lightsaber thing... felt like pure fan service to me.*  Someone above said how the fight finally confirmed Yoda's status as a "great warrior"... but, IIRC, Yoda had maintained that "wars do not make one great."

For my money, if Yoda were going to fight with a lightsaber at all (and I'd like to believe that Yoda somehow wouldn't have to resort to such things), he would control it simply with his mind, not bounce around like Kermit the Frog on cocaine.  AND if a Yoda battle were needed, it should've been saved for Palpatine (which was a great scene), not wasted on a nobody like... er... "Dooku."

Looking back at the prequel trilogy, one of the moments that stands out to me (in a good way) was Anakin's decision to strike Mace Windu and save Palpatine.  Powerful.

* Funny footnote.  Being a bit older than the typical anime crowd, I looked up "fan service" to make sure my use here was apropos, 'cause I know it usually has a sexual connotation, but I thought this was right, too.  The Wikipedia article says this: "Any gratuitous content included in some form of entertainment primarily to please a core group of fans is fan service.[4] The term has been used in a broader context than just anime, including Star Wars Prequels."

Heh. :)

The Yoda bit was pure fan service but it worked.  Yeah, he denies he was a great warrior, but people didn't call him a great warrior for nothing.

As for controlling it with his mind, what's more entertaining in Lucas' mind?  A floating light saber or Yoday bouncing around being a badass?  Both of those show off how awesome Yoday is, but one involves him...standing there while the other involves him actually being active.

Empire by far

Of the two Yoda Lightsaber battles. The first one was both gratuitous and not that satisfying. he just flew around like a little green snot ball.

The second fight against palpatine had a much better flow to it, not to mention a sense of purpose, which the first battle lacked.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Oh, I've no doubt that's how Lucas' mind works.

Give him long enough, we'd wind up seeing C-3PO dueling an Ewok Sith Lord, I'm sure.  You know, it's probably a good thing that he decided against episodes 7-9; enough damage has already been done.

BTW, thanks for posting that review of Phantom Menace.  Awesome, awesome stuff.

Justice has been served, EPisode 3 beats episode 4

YES!!!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Empire Strikes Back is by far the best.
The prequels are horrible and should never have been made.

Empire followed by Phantom Menace. I just love a great plot twist and I don't see the beef with Episode 1, while Jar Jar is annoying it's not worthy of demonizing Lucas like so many have. Although I'll admit, Phantom being the first one I saw in theathers helps it's case as well. First time seeing just seemed like the magic I saw when watching the originals on VHS.

Ignore the guys voice and watch this and then watch each part after:

You will see exactly why Phantom Menace is such a terrible movie (and it doesn't even involve Jar-Jar).

-edit-

And except for the part where he asks people to describe the character, the first video is a little meh but it gets better from the second video on.

He is probably the most annoying man ever, I'm sorry but I turned the video off 2 minutes in
