Do you think some games benefited from society currents?

Yes 12 80.00%

Let me explain. Many many great games have been released since the beginning of video gaming. But I think some of them became more famous, more iconic, because they were following a society current. They were following a trend.

A very good recent example would be Wii Fit. With the current of "Healthy Way of Life", Wii Fit arrived just on time to become an instant Best-Selling Fitness game. It is now the reference in terms of Fitness in video gaming and sold about 23 million copies worldwide.

Another good example is Tony Hawk Pro Skater. It appeared right on time when the skateboarding was exploding worldwide as a new sport trend. It scored a lot on Metacritic.

How about Guitar Hero and Rockband? A musical current that made those games references in terms of music in gaming and made them very very famous. Everybody was playing those games!

What do you think? May some games benefits from trends?

Your Wii fit example sorta confirms this to be true.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

thx to uncharted, assassin's creed, little big planet, portal etc... platforming is making a come back and more kids are using it to climb trees and houses and now look at new supa maro bros wii sells

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

No. Games make relationships bad.

I hope this doesn't happen to me, or you.

I think Guitar Hero and Rock Band are actually a bad example. How many really mainstream artists still play instruments?

This.

Rock Band would have had to be around in the 60's-80's for this to be true. I agree with your Wii fit example though.

Nintendo should make a Wii Care About The Environment game next to get in on the "green" craze.
