If he is around, he will pretend this piece of news never happened.

On a side note, vibration will be kept as a consolation prize for women to compensate Kratos' missing pixels.
Isn't "variable framerate" a euphemism for lots of lag and framerate dips?
"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy
Upscaled 720p to 1080p vs 1080p...I don't understand how anyone can possibly see a difference without seeing both from the same source, I really don't....And I'm a person who just can't watch SDTV anymore, Has to be HD or I get all bothered by it. Just can't see a difference between the two, and I have a 1080p 46" HDTV as well as a 32" 720p HDTV....
Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

GT5 does it.
I played this demo at CES and the animations and fighting looks gorgeous and smooth. There are no framerate issues and you will never miss those extra p's.
The only thing that surprised me graphically is that the backgrounds still are a little wallpaper-y. Kratos and enemies still skate a little on top of the ground/backgrounds. But the fighting is very smooth - much more so than DMC4 or especially Bayonetta on PS3. No signs of any slowdown, even with several enemies at once and lots of effects from attacks and the like.
A very pretty game in motion. Graphics lovers will not be disappointed.

But GT5 only has a couple moving elements on screen at one time to render. Racing games almost always have the highest level of detail and fidelity because it's just so much easier to process than say an army of alien invaders with lasers or Kratos and several combatants.

no it doesn't.
Its 1080p in the garage and menus and 1280x1080 in game.
It looks like they need a lesson from Naughty Dog. I think a lot of companies that want to develop games for the PS3 need to take lessons from Naughty Dog. What they did with the Uncharted series is amazing.
