January would have been a good choice, but apart from that February WAS the only sensible option.

september or october 2009. just dont send it to compete with the biggest gane in the genre for god sake sony.

Here's the way I look at it:

If VGC is correct that ME2 has 390k currently and 1 week left of pre-orders, we should see about 450-475k pre-orders. About 33% of all sales should be walk-ins (IMO) so that puts us at 675k in NA only.

That leaves ME2 with needing just 325k from the JP and PAL releases. If PAL is 50% of NA sales, then we're at 1,012,000 between both NA and PAL numbers. It'll be close, but I think it can be done

There is no way that MAG can take on Mass Effect saleswise. MAG is gonna be frontloaded like hell. It is a shooter for the very hardcore gamer and it had a HUGE beta.

We have to look at 360 exclusives vs Sony exclusives and just how fast they sell. We are talking about a new IP vs 2nd edition of another. ME2 will do much better over time...think about the anticipation vs the new guy...
