Forums - Sony - David Cage “won’t do a sequel to Heavy Rain…”

Following on from their world exclusive review of Heavy Rain, this month’s Official Playstation Magazine UK also includes an interview with Quantic Dream founder, David Cage.

“I don’t want to do a sequel because I’ve said what I had to say about these characters and this story,” he explains. “Honestly, I have nothing else to say.”

Such a statement may not be of too much surprise, especially with the known potential that you can kill characters off through poor choices. Yet Cage explains his reasoning in stating “I believe that the value of my company lies in its ability to create new IP’s.”

Of course we are aware of the extra DLC, known as the Heavy Rain Chronicles, that are entirely optional but set to expand upon the overall experience for those that enjoy it. For those that may complain about why the DLC isn’t within the main game, Cage is quick to respond with “The game tells a full story, nothing is missing from it. The approach to DLC was to say, let’s work on prequels. What led the characters to be who they are in Heavy Rain? What happened to them before?”

The February 2010 issue of the Official Playstation Magazine UK, issue 41, will go on sale tomorrow. Within its glossy pages you can catch the full interview as well as full reviews of Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII and Army of Two: 40th Day amongst others, with features on Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Final Fantasy XIII and the titles set to make 2010 a successful year for Playstation 3 owners.

Don't we already know this?

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I wonder how much DLC there will be for this game.

They'll probably make a completely new story with the same gameplay style and engine.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
