Well every trophy is valuable. Some are worth more than others, like well... some achievements are worth more.
People are addicted to trophies the same way they're addicted to achievements.
The player level though is a nice addition. Now integrating it with Home would make it even more superior as a system.
A good reason ?

Ofcourse every trophy is valuable... but whats Bronze and Silver worth if you don't have Platinum? You might as well have nothing if you don't have a Platinum.
Also achievement scores are bigger! Bigger is better!

you already have best online (for free) + good array of good game + indie game + mod
of course, if you want to play Halo3 Gears of war 2 or Alan wake
since MS is playing the dirty father with PC gamers ... you will need a 360 !

I am in the same situation, I decided that is cheaper to buy an X360 than a full featured PC...
So, I would use my PC just for work and browsing.. and play games on my consoles...
I am waitting for Natal and will buy near end of 2010... so, until there the console will have plenty content for Natal e other things unavailable on the PC and PS3..
But I am really hopefull for SONY 3D feature and Wand... Natal I saw and got in touch, is impressive for horizontall/vertical moves but for deepness is kind imprecise..
