Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 2 more third party wii games fail with sales?

Hisiru said:

Oh yes, Silent Hill is still very popular:

And it probably sold 1 million on the PS1... right?

Then, it's time to bash the Wii!

0.30m JAPAN ONLY (yea, I know Shattered Memories' numbers are America only), and Homecoming sold 340k on 360. Your post is really dumb.

Actually,

These are leaked numbers and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles was only on the market for 4 days.
Secondly, Silent Hill: The Home Coming for the Xbox 360 and PS3 did not light up the charts either. Matter of fact, Silent hill has never been a big IP. This is a sales site so check the sales.

Question:
Why is everyone so ready to call a third party game on the Wii a bomb? I was on another site called Gonintendo that had the same article and the majority just called the games bombs even after being told the Sales of Silent Hill: The Home Coming and that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles had only been on the market for four days. It's like people want the Myth to be true that 3rd party games can not sell on the Wii that any evidence to disprove this is Ignored.

And that's supposed to be a Nintendo fan site. I'm starting to wonder if some people on those sites really are plants from Wii hating companies.

NO Nintendo fan site is ever populated by Nintendo fans. When Nintendo.com had forums, the Xbox fans took that site over. Any time I wanted to discuss games or find gaming information about games for my Cube it always turned into The Xbox vs the Cube. I'm not into the system wars stuff. I could careless. I just like to know what games are coming out for the systems that I own. Sometimes gamers suggest games that are similar to games that I like that I passed over or suggest games that are good that I may be interested in. That's all I want/wanted to know. But thread topics were derailed by system wars crap. I just left that site and never went back to visit the forums. When they closed them down. I did not care.

Heck, that likely was why they were shut down.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Wait, is 340k a good number now? Then Madworld and The Conduit aren't a flop. See? Third party games can sell on the Wii.

And look at how you ignored the PS3 version of Homecoming.

I'm not ignoring, I'm just saying you should add ps3+360 to compare.

I'm guessing Nintendo's NPD numbers were just too damn depressing for the "Hardcore" Got to love the theater that goes on.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Despite Shattered Memories being an awesome game, if you play the game it's pretty obvious that Konami didn't put a high budget on it.

They knew they messed up badly with Homecoming... SH2 was quite successful, I'm pretty sure it sold at least 2 million copies.

You will merge the two versions to make a comparison... Is it really rational? Your post, sir, is dumb.

Silent Hill bombed on the PS3 and x360. Bad numbers for Shattered Memories isn't the Wii's fault, the series is in decline.

And the Wii version of Silent Hill was marvelous, just as the op stated.

Getting to 230k is hard as hell.

So were are the threads on HD games that sell poorly?

When did selling bad on the Wii become the Wii's fault?

That's when I thought TCB was going to be a good game.

Look, how many times have we seen cases of "bombs" that gathered sales over time? This isn't anything new with the Wii. You just choose to ignore that because, well, you're a negative person.

It is a good game though. It lives up to everything it promised it would be. Layle is awesome in how much of a jerk he is. The world feels a lot more alive than your typical FF despite the extremely limited number of NPCs you can talk to. The story is about as good as you can expect from SE. Combat is either tedious, or a lot of fun depending on the area. I am just sad that the game will likely never get a sequel.
