Forums - Sony Discussion - Final Fantasy 13

Firstly, id like it if no one bashed me, but I havent played a single FF game. When the trailer came out for FF13 i downloaded it, it looks interesting, maybe something I could like but i dnt get the whole storyline of it. So would anyone like to explain the story to me, atleast like what you know or is nothing known at all? OH and i have never played a JRPG game so can anyone explain the battle system too?

The story is different for each Final Fantasy game. There are two sequels to some of the numbered games if I recall correctly, which is FFX-2 and FFIV: The After Years.

We barely know anything about the story of FFXIII though. All I know is that there's something going on with the Fal'Cie and the L'Cie (don't know if that's how they're called). They're two groups of people or something, and one is good for humanity and the other isn't.

The battle system... well, once again it's pretty different all the time. Too bad you never played Xenogears, but it looks like it a bit. You have a bar that has for example 5 action points. Each moves you want to use cost action points, and you can create combos with different moves as long as you have enough action points. Some attacks that cost 3 actions points are more powerful than ones with 1 action points, but you do less combos. I guess we'll see how it works!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

I REALLY don't feel like typing so I'll just post this:

Hopefully you'll understand a little from this, for the Battle System.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

First of all I'll say that this is a very good FF game for people who have never played JRPG's.......its easy to jump into & very fun apparently.

BTW is it the new international trailer that you downloaded? the one that came out a few days ago?

Here is the outline of the games story published by S-E officially as a press release:

Story
Cocoon — a utopia in the sky.
Its inhabitants believed their world a paradise.
Under the Sanctum's rule, Cocoon had long known peace and prosperity.

Mankind was blessed by its protectors, the benevolent fal'Cie, and believed that tranquil days would continue forever.

Their tranquility was shattered with the discovery of one hostile fal'Cie.

The moment that fal'Cie from Pulse — the feared and detested lowerworld — awoke from its slumber, peace on Cocoon came to an end.

Fal'Cie curse humans, turning them into magic-wielding servants.

They become l'Cie — chosen of the fal'Cie.

Those branded with the mark of a l'Cie carry the burden of either fulfilling their Focus or facing a fate harsher than death itself.

A prayer for redemption.

A wish to protect the world.
A promise to challenge destiny.

After thirteen days of fates intertwined, the battle begins.
