The game was underfunded and didn't receive any advertising. Its just another example of an original Wii game with good ideas that no one played because no one heard of it. Of course it sold badly, because it wasn't advertised.

I highly doubt it'll get a sequel. And even if it did, it would be a low budget, rushed title like the first game.

I don't think I would call the first game rushed.  It got delayed several times.  If it was rushed, they probably would have just released it instead of delaying it.

It was rushed in the sense of the company producing it just kept pushing the producer to release it.  He stated this in one of the post-production interviews.  Yes, it got delayed from the official release date, but that's not saying much as most games don't release right on time.  The ones that do only seem to release on time because they didn't have a set release date until after the game was near completion.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

You know how Wii titles sell well? It's ads, nothing else.

For those confused why they were happy with sales last week...

Those quotes were from Rising Star Games, who published it in Europe - where it sold better. I'm still not convinced that the developers themselves could take too much joy out of European sales, but I digress.

Rising Star Games pretty much took a nishe Wii game no one else wanted, and sold a reasonable amount of copies. Given the circumstances I doubt they were ever going to be disappointed in sales, as, as a publisher they invested little into bringing it to Europe.

Actually I believe they are one and the same - the developer owns Rising Star... (that's what I read somewhere at least)

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

A little tweaking, and they could have had something more marketable. Re-pitch the game as a development RTS, rather than a straight combat game, and so tweak it to be a bit like Harvest Moon, they could at least be into the 500k range.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I will probably pick it up eventually (ie: used for $20), but I'll agree the title and cover art is a little too kiddie to make it high on my want list, and the lack of IR support on top of that was the deal breaker for full price.

I probably missed that one.

Because Harvest Moon sells 500k copies?
