"Maybe the best developers, directors and producers dont want to sacrifice their vision and scope at the expense of a userbase that mostly consists of people interested in carnival games, fitness games, and deca sports resort."

They stopped buying those. Did you even pay attention to recent news?

I have a HD system, I have everything except PS3 and I will continue to bitch about the lack of effort on the Wii because at this point there is no excuse for them not to bring it to the Wii.

When they stop bitching about their halfassed work not being sold enough on the Wii then maybe i will stop bitching too.

All I want is the same effort put into a Wii game from theese developers as they put into the HD twins, no more of their C teams making games for the Wii bring on their A teams (their best teams) to make a game for the wii.

FPS games would fit perfectly on the Wii with the wiimote and yet they dont bring it, they rather bring it on the HD with their inferior controls and that is fracked up especially when they bitch that their games dont sell on the Wii.

Just look at Modern warfare, even though its inferior graphics wise and gimped both game wise and marketing wise the game is still a superior experinece on the Wii, especially when you allready have played it on a HD system once (thats all better graphic does, its better the first time with enhanced graphics then it doesnt mutter anynmore).

if they could do it for the playstation then they could do it for the Wii its as simple as that.

Too many long discussion so this may have been said already:

I just dont understand it. If you look at the top selling games of the Wii. I posted this in another thread:

http://vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?page=1&results=50&name=&console=Wii&minSales=0&publisher=&genre=

Of the top 30 selling games WW 10 have mario or sonic in them.
Of those 30:

4 are fitness games.
6 are "Wii" branded games (music, fit, sports, resort)
13 are mini game compilations.

http://vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?name=&console=PS3&publisher=&genre=&minSales=0&results=50&sort=Total

Of the 30 top selling PS3 games there are FPS, Third person shooters, third person action adventure, sports games, racing games, rhythm games and platformers.

http://vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?name=&console=X360&publisher=&genre=&minSales=0&results=50&sort=Total

Of the top 30 games for the 360 you see the same thing.

Now, queue the "well devs never gave wii owners the chance to experience the aforementioned genres with quality" So i say to that Nintendo made its bed with the concept of the wii and now its consumers must lie in it.

What sells and the connotation of what the wii offers is clearly visible by nintendo and its developers, this seems to be a problem with the userbase who is clamoring for more and taking it personally when these developers speak out about the truth of the matter.

A lot of what has progressed in the aforementioned genres requires a lot of processing power and tech behind it. Control schemes on the wii lack many of th einputs and intuitive nature of gameplay that are required to enjoy the games and genres.

There are a lot of variables that go into why or why a game cannot or should not be ported or brought to the wii. Its reality, you cant have an assassins creed game without massive environments, huge draw distances, and tons of stuff going on on screen because it wouldnt work. You cant have Bioshock without the atmospheric graphics, immersion and storytelling.

Sports games have lacked on the wii, some have been botched, FPS are almost nonexistent in terms of sales compared to the 360 and PS3.

Expectations grow within genres over time, things need to improve and this is why its imperative that the hardware be able to accomadate to move genres forward.

This is without mentioning the control and button mapping necessary to make the game intuitive. There are so many complex variables and when developers are already committed to the immersiveness, quality, and progression of their titles, genres and franchises these things must be considered.

On top of that, many developers of the quality games we all love of this gen and others have a deep love for their craft and work. Without progressing them perhaps they dont feel satisfied with their art......lots of things.

People need to stop bitching about these companies when they make a business decision that, yes, can be debated, but clearly has no single answer...if they are unhappy then get a system that gives you what you desire.....if not, then stick with the wii. And vice versa in regard to HD owners unhappy with their products.

I'd argue the opposite.  It could be argued weather the improved IR capabilities of the Wiimote are offset by the lack of enough buttons to provide all the conrtol inputs, but no matter what side of that fence you fall on, people can learn to adapt to a percieved inferior control scheme over time, and then they don't see an issue with it at all (just like they did by switching over to the gamepad from the mouse/keyboard scheme0.  Bad graphics are bad and remain that way every time you fire up the game.  If you can't make out that the person far away is an enemy or friend the first time, you won't do so the 100'th time.

No matter how much people complain these companies will make what they want for whatever console(s) they want. End of story really.

If I was a developer I would make what I want to make for whatever I want to make it for. I wouldn't change my vision just because people ask me to. I know what I like to make and I know what I am good at.

Who knows, maybe my view would bankrupt me, but is there a guarantee that doing what everyone else tells me to do would be all rainbows and butterflies?

Is there a guarantee that a $15-30M project on the Wii would bring these devs more money than a $15-30M project on the HD Twins? Am I going to spend around the same amount and then offer my game(s) for $10 less and then make the same and/or more money?

I don't know these answers, I'm not even in a proper state of mind and not even sure if my post makes any sense really.

Be gentle.

Thank you. Im about to graduate and become a registered nurse and to be honest, yeah, i could work in a nursing home or hospice which is monumentally (arguably) such an important aspect of human life care, helping families and patients transition to an impossible situation in their life.....but ive spent so much work and time on understand the ins and outs of intense medications, emergency situations, complex skills that would simply either go to waste or my skills not being fulfilled, so rather than pass my profession and education by in the hospice or elderly care id gladly take a pay cut to fully utilize my skills and passion in an ICU or ER setting.

You cant win an argument with fact based logic against Nintendo fans because the wii sells so well.
This is all I will say.

Right, you could pull off Assassins creed without a living breathing city and massive landscapes and combat. You could pull off Bioshocks atmosphere with 1/2 of th etextures, environment and immersion.

Give me a god damn break. This hardware alone would change the games as we know it, let alone the lack of button mapping necessary to flow through an intense game requiring that kind of processing power.

"Bad graphics are bad, every time you fire up the game."

Polygon count and texture resolution are not bad. Bad art direction is bad, and any system can have those.

If they put some serious effort into the Wii bad graphics wouldnt be an issue, the graphics wouldnt be the best around but it would be good enough.

The original xbox reached the level of graphics needed too for it not to be the most important anymore and you can clearly see this on the charts as consumers buy their games.

Seeing how MW2 is going to end up being the highest selling multiplatform game of the generation, you can hardly fault Activision for releasing it on the platforms they picked...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

"Right, you could pull off Assassins creed without a living breathing city and massive landscapes and combat."

San Andreas had all those things. While that's too much for the PS1, it's not too much for the Wii, so all that gets sacrificed is an expensive coat of paint.
