I personally would get a PS3 at this point. The 360 breaks, red-rings, etc. Unless there are exclusives on the 360 that you definitely don't want to miss, I'd go PS3. It's looking to have another great year with 2010.

That being said, I don't think the price of the 360 will drop within the month. So you'd be fine going out and getting the 120g right now.

Why would you even bring that up? He said nothing about buying a new system all he asked was a hdd question and if he should wait to buy a new 360. Why would you even talk about rrod? Thats a ridiculously flaimbait post.

He asked for an opinion.  I gave it.  I didn't just mention the PS3, I also added that if he did still decide to get another 360, he would be fine getting the 120g.  Chill out, please.

That would be "GB", not "g" or even "gb". Use the right terminology. You leave people confused. I had no clue what you meant by "Clearing 120g?"

Where have you been?

But you just mentioned PS3 like right now.

A.  I already have a PS3.

B.  I clearly was discussing replacing my launch-ish 360.   I have about 75 games for the 360, plus XBLA, plus DLC, nearly seven years of Xbox Live relationships and membership and an undying love for all things Halo.

If I were to give up one system or the other, it clearly would NOT be the 360.

Thanks for all opinions.  I still don't know what I will do.  :(   It plays ODST flawlessly every time but only loads L4D2 and COD and the other games form the last 6 months one of every ten times.  Suxorz.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Well the bigger harddrive would probably help alleviate some of the disc drive problems you've been having as you could pretty much install all of your games (except maybe Halo 3, unless you want slower loading times) which would reduce the stress on the drive as it only would check the dvd when you start up the game. I have pretty much all the games I'm playing installed on my 360 hdd(previously 120GB, now 250GB MW2 system).

If I was in your position though I would either wait a bit to see what happens and if MS decides to replace the Elite hdd with a 250Gb one, or see if you can find a good deal on an Elite, like these ones:

http://dealzon.com/deals/xbox-360-deals-roundup-elite-arcade-and-pro-consoles

@Amazon: $294 Elite (w/Lego Batman & Pure) comes with a $50 gift card.

Then it's up to you whether the games(which you could probably sell) and the $50 gc are worth more than the extra hdd that MS may or may not put into the Elite. If it was full price the best choice would probably be to wait a little bit and see what happens, but the Elite w/games and gc seems like a pretty damn good deal. Especially for somebody in your situation with a 360 in not so great shape and a tiny hdd.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

unless you have alot of games you plan to install to your hard drive (like me) then just go ahead and get the 120 gb. Otherwise wait for the 250. 120 is alot of memory if you really think about it. Most xbox games take less than 6 gb each so you can fit an easy 15 or 20 games on it.

Yet rather amazingly you were able to helpfully clear up his error. Amazing indeed.

Not particularly helpful response though was it.

Trolling much?

Jasper 360 break less often than launch model PS3, and its free to fix. Hell on top of that you brought a PS3 into it.

OP-

I think they might start putting  250GB in march.
