if it was "really exclusive" it would have sold a ton of ps3 consoles like it did in japan. but then MS stepped in and _____ __.

And have people forgotten that Mario Kart still sold 9.8million on the GC/N64 regardless of it being on ONE system and the LEAST SELLING one to boot? I use GC and N64 as examples of this instead of the PS1 and PS2's games that sold a lot because Nintendo was in the losing place. It just shows that games that are exclusive can still sell bucket loads regardless of how many more consoles the competition has over the other. :/

See Onyxmeth & mrstickball's prior posts. They sum it up very well.
Mind as well read the good posts before this thread gets locked due to the same old tried and true negative BULLSHIT!

It sold 9.8 million on the N64, and ~7mil on the GC.
On the Wii, it has sold ~21 million, and counting. If anything, it shows that userbase does matter.
Another example more similar to FF: DQIX. The series has broken records thanks to releasing on the DS in Japan.
I don't know why you push this "userbase means nothing" argument. I know a few people that only own X360's who are getting this game, and they wouldn't have done so if it were a PS3 exclusive. That's just how it is, there's no magic involved.

Ok then why is this trend not translating into the same thing when it comes to Exclusives going MP? No used to be exclusive has made that leap in sales from jumping. And The Wii is still no where close to where the PS2 was (120million) and it has pulled off game breaking numbers with its titles when the PS2 rarely did. Its obviously more of a corrolation between the fanbase changing rather then it simply being more available cuz more systems have been purchased.

I love how Square-Enix gets off the hook completely by placing blame on others (Microsoft and the 360).
Don't feel bad guys, the extra content will surely make it in the International version. They might even localize it this time.
Why isn't it on PC? WTF? Stupid Square-Enix.
They want more sales, right?

^Agreed! I've been saying this for ages now and why me (and many other 360 owners) don't visit here as much these days as there are many other great sites out there that treat their fans equally,
Just seems lately that if you don't like or support the ps3 the most you don't fit in here and are not welcome...
TC, imagine how great the previous FF could have been if they werent limited to the PS2's weak hardware? WIth your logic they should have all been on the xbox, no wait the PC as that had the best hardware around. It still has btw, but that si not how it works now is it? Many FF are on the 360 now, and you need to make games for your fans. The 360 is an important console so the game is build with that console in mind aswell. Did that make FF13 a less good game? Probably, but that is no different then the story behind all the previous FF games.
