Forums - Sales - Japan Holiday Sales

Christmas in Japan is a commercial event. It is widely celebrated, and sales do shoot up during Christmas times due to gifts being given. However, the real driver of sales in Japan is Oshogatsu (New Years), where it is customary for parents, grandparents and maybe uncles/aunts to give children a gift of money called Otoshidama. Usually, it's a decent chunk of money too.
