So what you're saying is that although the Wii sells the most sofware (1st and 3rd party) and hardware out of the big 3, you still want more support to go to it?

More support? Don't you mean at least some support?

Last time I checked (and I really mean that, I haven't checked in a while) the Wii still sells the most 3rd party software out of the big 3.

So how can it not get be getting support? Are 3rd parties publishing Nintendo games?

I don't think one can really jump to conclusions at this point. Yeah, the gen is not over, but the decisions made now influence the games coming out in 12-18 months, if not more.

Isn't it way too late for developers to change their mind on the Wii?

Yes, it is much too late. It was too late.... I want to say as of the end of 2007.

I think the thing here is that trestres - like many other Wii buyers (myself excluded, and I want to point that out particularly) - wants third parties to publish the same sorts of games on the Wii that they do on the HD consoles.

It's not a bad wish, it's jsut untenable and it would be a terrible decision for these companies.

Many forget game creators are gamers at the first place and want to make a game they love. Epic loves to show their Ultra awasome engines, Itagaki loves to bring his cool sexy games, Etc many gamedeveloppers are graphicwhores. Many third party games on Wii feel like they are made without love from the developpers and more like easy cash-ins.

For myself, I don't wish that third parties would publish the same games--or even the same *sorts* of games--on the Wii as they do on the HDs.

Rather, I wish they would publish games that had the same level of investment as those on the HDs seem to have, and then were marketed with the same kind of fervor.

I just got a feeling a member just ended this thread, in an epic way.

They don't need to have the same level of investment. Wii games are cheaper to make.

That being said, I agree with you that Khuutra didn't state my opinion correctly, and I believe I have the same one as many others...

trestres you made similar thread throughout last year & have made this one now.

You want some support? Wii has 3rd party support

if you want the support, basically the games 3rd parties are giving to HD consoles, its really time you decided to maybe get a PS3 or a 360 as your second console.

Beside 1st party wise Wii is looking brilliant in 2010

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

lets look at this positively.

maybe the wii will be better off with less third parties spewing mostly crap on the poor thing.

wii doesn't need third parties. they can goto the hd consoles and die a slow, painful, red inked death there for all i care.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

3rd parties thought they would get away with making games for the Wii with their C team and that would never work since Nintendo only has A teams working on games.

Nintendo gave them a chance to get in on the cash but they didnt in the way they should have and Nintendo knew this was possible to happen, now watch Nintendo´s B plan go into affect they will support their own console by them selves and have been planing for this the whole time just in case it would go down like this.

The Industry needs Nintendo this time around just like they needed the Playstation the last 2 gens.

Just watch 3rd parties profits go down from now on when Nintendo takes a hands on approach on the problem.

@Tres you remember when you asked why Nintendo didnt announce so many games the past year? This is why and I told you then Nintendo knows what they are doing, they let the third parties have their window and in the meantime they prepared for the worst case scenario and made the games you will see the next 3 years.
