@Khuutra

oh I''ll get through it, I have faith in my skills. I just don't mind much if they aren't required ;)

Witch Time doesn't activate with dodges against enemies like Grace & Glory

If you rely solely on dodge-based Witch Time they will murder you.

on normal mode it activates against them...

easier to activate it anyway is to equip the moon accessory and dodge toward the enemy, this way you will either get a witch time from dodge or from counter..

This is kinda funny as there is an Alfheim portal where you can only damage enemies during witch time and one of the waves is Grace and Glory :P

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

well, now that's just something extra, not really how the game is intended to be or designed for. That's alright for hardcore fans of the game , though.

No, the game's mechanics are designed that way. I'm faster and more efficient ever since I stopped using Witch Time as a crutch. The system here is hugely exploitable if you're willing to learn it; if you play it like a button masher, you're crippling yourself.

@Ail:

I played that portal, I think. I don't remember it being Grace and Glory, though - I remember it being the other sort, the Fire and Lightning twins.

I came in this thread to see two things: Why people weren't buying Bayonetta, and what people had to say about Madworld possibly outperforming it in America. Unfortunately no on addressed issue number 2 but I'm seeing that most of the anti-Bayonetta sentiments are spawning from ignorance.

I mean, God of War clone? Really? I think you need to recheck who made strides in this genre.

It's doing worse then Madworld... holy crap.

I mean, i think it's plain to see which of the two games was supposed to be their "big" game.

The sales really are surprising to me... I hope it really isn't the "she's a girl!" thing and more of a "Platnium has a hard time conveying what in their game is serious and what isn't."

What does the moon do? I spent all my halos on power ups and didnt buy any upgrades...

The Moon of Somethingsomething allows you to countr enemies - you know how when you're attacking Jeanne and she'll smack you backwards, knocking you off-balance? It lets you do the same thing. If you get them during a specific hi and using a counter-attack properly, it ativates Witch Time, and against Jeanne and the Chapter XVI boss it's a lot more reliable than dodging.

Sweet. Tahts what second playthrough is for...

Firs thing to purchase is the moon and then the bat form technique.

Bat form will allow you to negate damage if you dodge too late and moon will allow you to block and if good timing counter and start witch time ( with double duration)...

Best way to use the moon is once you have it start dodging into the enemy attack this way you will most of time trigger either regular dodge, witch time, block , counter + witch time or bat form if too late...

Actually I exploit a lot of fights without using witch time...

There's a few ways to make a lot of fight cheesy.

1) Run away from enemies, face wall so you don't see enemies, charge katana, unleash when enemy come on screen, panther form, run away, rinse and repeat..

2) If you fight flying bow guys, pick their weapon when they are dead and spam Kick ( it shoots an arrow that does a lot of damage..)

3) if you don't care about time, taunt like mad and mainly use only TA..

I can't imagine that this works in every fight because some enemies will attack you from off-screen/will charge you from off-screen

But

Why would you play in such a cheesy way even if it worked 100% of the time? Such a cheesy, slow way?

I think it's the art style that sold darksiders.

i find this really amusinf that a game with 0 hype and lower reviews has outsold a so called masterpiece on both HD paltforms(darksiders has outsold bayonetta in america,,the only numbers we have upto now)

here are the numbers for america week 1:

PS3:

bayonetta:52.1K

darksiders:120.k

Xbox 360:

bayonetta:90k

darksiders:190k

I find this kinda intresting,,,,what do you guys think??

I though bayonetta will do good but as it seems it is doing horribly.

That's the amazing thing about games sometimes there just unpredictable...much like Borderlands & Demon Souls..games thought to do low and exceeded expectations...

Well, I'd personally like to see Darksiders do well. It seems like the beginning of a great franchise.

Its starting out pretty well on both consoles with not much advertising....

I do that when rl low on health :p

Although I have started to use the Star of Dinara as an alternative...
