There are currently 46,531 people playing Halo 3's multiplayer online (as checked by the ODST disc). Anyone care to check Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, and World at War? Should give us a pretty good idea of the top 4 compared across platform....

Random side note: I could sit on this menu and listen to the music for a long time.

Someone on my friends list who started MW2 said that there are 79k players right now.

Would that be worldwide, or just in that region?

If so, that's interesting that there are 11k less playing the 360 version than the PC version.

I expect that number to grow substantially as the day progresses as well. With a peak around 4 or 5PM or so.

Nice, so about 400K playing Modern Warfare 2 right now. Now if we could get numbers on CoD4 and WaW it would be an interesting comparison.
