Forums - Sales Discussion - GT5 : The (hidden) Sony weapon for end 2010 ?

I tried to explain how a GT5 release in early 2010 was given a slighty edge to Sony and, more important, how Sony lineup for late 2010 looked "poor/empty" compared to the 360 one.

Poor is a bit harsch but in term of hype/sales potential, when you have Natal/HaloReach/pricecut in the opposed team, it is legitimate to ask yourself : "How Sony will deal with this ?"

Indeed, late 2010 is going to be "The Xbox360 biggest (final ?) strike" to dominate the console market....

Dominating the console market isn't the same as trying to remain in second place. I don't understand why people simply still ignoring the Wii.

And no, GT5 will no be delayed because Sony will also have their wiimote to launch.

Not "hidden" more like a weapon that they have alrdy revealed but they just wont use for some reason.

I agree. How can a GT game be a hidden weapon when everyone expects it to sell extremely well? Although I do think it is the best strategy for sony to leave it untill fall but for gamers it sucks.

sorry

indeed, I said this because I really think MS is trying not only to dominate Sony, but also to dominate Ninty

In clear, Natal is a Wii killer before being a PS3 killer for MS

I know Wii is already first, and I also know MS has high probability to fail miserably to counter Ninty at his own game ..

Time to Work !

"do you think GT5 will be pushed back in Japan (and WW) to a late 2010 release date to help the PS3 during this crucial period"

Clearly not. The main reason behind GT5's delays is the adding of features and Sony has with the PS3 compensated third parties for the lack of sales by not issuing most of its' first parties during the holidays.

Also : its' unbelievable how the PS3 fanbase as a whole not only bears with consistently misleading dates for GT5 but fabricates excuses for it. Collective denial ?

God i hate fanboys, almost as much as they hate facts

No. All a delay does is make the GT5 impact smaller. Just means more people that want GT5 will already have a PS3 when GT5 releases.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

1/ we just want our game lol (it is called hope)

but fabricates excuses for it. Collective denial ?

2/ excuse ? no, we are just looking for clear explanation. We seek the truth. Why denial ? We just want GT5 as soon as possible and are questionning PD : "why not now ?"

i agree with you man. MS has halo reach and sony need a a game that can match halo reach (in terms of sales, popularity, etc)

The more this gets delayed gives the competitors more time to develop a counter strategy.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

There are no console competitors that come even remotely close, and if they were to counter act they would have a smaller team, and a less capable system to work on meaning they would need probably 6 years at least in development time.

It's good that it was delayed, Sony had way to many big games coming out around March
