Which Gaming GENRE will be the BEST in 2010, Vote & say Why!

RPG (inlcudes JRPG & WRPG) 49 55.68%

Casual 1 1.14%

Sports 2 2.27%

Shooter (includes FPS & TPS) 13 14.77%

Platformer 1 1.14%

Action-Adventure 22 25.00%

Total:88

definitely RPG's. Mass Effect 2, WKC, FFXIII, Pokemon heart gold/soul silver, resonance of fate...god damn thats pretty damn big for one year and much needed too after the long drought we have had. But yea RPG's are gonna be the top dogs this year

RPG in my opinion.
So many coming out and so little time to play them. **crying puppy eyes**

At some point, something must have come from nothing...

...nothing can come from nothing...

The RPG list is pretty nasty. Even though I don't play WRPG's, WoW Cataclysm, FFXIII, Pokemon, Tales of Graces, Dragon Quest IX, then other smaller ones like White Knight Chronicles, Arc Rise Fantasia...

I've gotta say, it wins out... Even with Zelda Wii and The Last Guardian coming out, my two favorite Action-Adventure franchises. (God, next year is loaded!)

RPG, mainly because of Zelda (I know it is not completely and RPG)

and Fable 3.

Between Action-Adventure and RPG but I choose action-adventure because I'm seeing more new and less sequels

RPG: Mass Effect: 2, I guess you could count FFXIII if you'd like, Fable 3, and I'm already running out of games since Star Wars: TOR's probably 2011, 2010 died a good heap now :( if confirmed.

Action-Adventure: Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, Zelda Wii, possibly The Last Guardian, Splinter Cell: Conviction (really stealth-action but you out of those options), Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 possibly, and possibly some others.

actually you have missed out loads of RPG's, but they are all medium tier- low tier JRPG's & you don't seem like your into them

but the RPG list is much bigger than that, just so you know

Most excited Ive been in a long time for a years worth of good rpgs to play. Already sitting at 5 preorders (4 rpgs and GoW3). As far as sales...if you lump WoW Cata into RPGs they will win easily. Second goes to Action/Adventure maybe? not sure where you would put SC2, but if it comes out this year (with WoW Cata) Actibastard Blizzard will own us all.

No sandbox option?

Theres............

Dead Rising 2
Crackdown 2
Mafia 2
Red Dead Redemption

all on the way and i'm pumped for all of those.

I would have put it in, but there wasn't enough room + include it in action adventure if you want

C'mon! Casual minigames for sure. Natal + PSwand will give a huge boost to that genre in both scope and quantity. I bet a casual game will be up for GOTY this year. Might not win but it will give a lot of cred to the genre.

For me personally it will be the racing genre just cause of GT5 alone on the PS3.

For all platforms i think it will be action adventure as each platform has some interesting games coming out. I could care less about FPS games now until they innovate them to the next level. That doesn't mean i wont buy FPS games, it just means i wont rank them higher then the other genres.
