I'd rather get a RE4 HD remake honestly. The original fixed camera/tank control games are borderline unplayable imo.

But I definitely wouldn't say no to RE4/5 style remakes of the older games. RE2 especially.

Any game with last gen graphics do not need to be remade (RE1, RE Zero) ..however RE2 & 3 have not yet been remade so either remake them in HD or at least the same as RE1 & Zero.

I would love for that to happen. I miss the good old RE times. RE5 was a huge disappointment imo.

thanks for correcting me Guru... but my main point still stands... I hate when ppl say _________ should be remade just to be in HD... inless its remake serves a greater purpose...leave it alone, let classics be classic remaking a game just to be in HD with no other purpose is a waste of time that could used for a sequel. Plus the RE reboot for PSP is coming wait for that

Why not take a awesome old game and make it even more awesome by updating it with todays standards.

because only graphic whores think adding HD makes it more awesome... I mean these games were made on PS1, do you kno the work that would have to go into remaking them for HD consoles?... it would basically be making 3 brand new games... so why just not make 3 sequels

Re 4 and 5 are F***ing terrible thats why. I cant imagine 6 and 7 being any better, probably worse? RE is just a shity action game now

a remake of 1-3 would kick ass, just dont use RE4-5 game engine, visual style, director producer programmers or anyone that had anything to do with the abominations known as RE 4 and 5.

Well, REmake was basically their HD remake of the first game wasn't it?

It would be awesome to see such great games being remake with current standards and technology. And I find hilarious the people complaining in this thread come from the very same group - the one that would miss the hypothetical remakes!

I know there are a lot of RE4/5 haters out there.

Let me make a statement:

The survival/horror aspects that were seemingly lost in RE4 and 5 ARE NOT due to game play. It was entirely due to the way they told the story, and the lack of a horror atmosphere.

If you want a scary Resident Evil 5, go play Dead Space. It has a similar 'action shooter' control scheme, and is one of, if not the, scariest games I've ever played. I don't want to say I or my fiancee are horror game buffs, but I can't think of a series I've played that was better and making me not want to play due to terror than Dead Space is.

If RE1-3 were remade, and had atmospheres similar to Dead Space, I can assure that they would be frightening. I especially think RE1 would be a great fit, due to the constricted hallways of the game, as it tends to hearken to the Ishimura. I couldn't imagine walking towards a narrow halway in RE1, and seeing a flash of thunder through a window, illuminating the silhouette of a zombie.

Well it's not surprising that while playing Uncharted you'll think Resident Evil. It's not hard to believe that most of the inspiration for the Uncharted series came from RE, namely RE4 haha. Lots of games owe there inspiration to that one. Truly a wonderful game indeed.

As for remaking the early titles, I would love to seem them all remade in RE4 style. Really could care less about any graphical updates but using the RE4 control setup would be wonderful. I mean the controls for the early style of RE games were nothing short of horrific so it would be nice to see them updated to something better. Would be quite an undertaking but I think it would pay off for Capcom.

I'd definitely buy them but man I would rather them for Wii than PS360 haha.
