You really think developers would stand Nintendo only allowing them to make certain games, when that drove them away before?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Not that I'm buying Knight's theory (for that matter, neither is he), but if Nintendo did want to go this route, using proxies would be much more effective in the long run than openly declaring war on shovelware.

I think he was playing smart ass.
definitely not a deal that was worked out, but it could be some very shrewd convincing that took place. They both definitely lose shelf space on those games, but it's not like they don't sell. Also, it's strange that 2 retailers would do it, rather than one sole retailer. This makes me think they will both be getting their information on what to stock from a similar source.
