In line with what some others in this thread have said, Heavy Rain may well be a rental for me too. Especially if it isn't a long game.

This isn't a comment on the game's likely quality at all, I think I'll love it. But the sheer cost of gaming this year in terms of time and money means cuts must be made somewhere, and I am starting with new I.P., not established franchises I know I will love.

That not withstanding, I will be getting my hands on ME2 as a purchase, and Conviction and Heavy Rain as rentals at least.

Anyways, as for the topic on hand I don't think Mass Effect will eat up MAG sales, just as I don't think Splinter Cell will eat up Heavy Rain sales. They are all different genres on different consoles.

The last number they released was 38 million I think, but PSP also has some PSN users. I don't think MAG is going to do well either

I guess we will see. I wonder if the dedicated Socom crowd will shift towards it.

I found it to be very enjoyable, especially after putting a few hours in and upgrading my gear. Unfortunately though I don't have the cash to spend on it. I would much rather grab White Knight Chronicles the following week.

It doesn't have huge advertising and/or didn't cost 50-75M to make or 4+ years in some cases.

fine... but what does that have to do with this thread?

if I follow the thread title, it is about exclusivity. If it is about exclusivity you can come with the HD WAR : ps3 vs 360

at this moment, you realize ME and SCC are releazed on PC too and you can't really argue they are exclusive (that follow some recent forum rules that said "if it is on PC then it is not exclusive")

of course, you can also come with the software sales but then, considering each game is releazed on 1 different system (PS3 OR 360) then there is no software war because most of the user have a PS3 OR a 360 (estimation)

At the end, it makes me wonder if it is really important that games released on different system are released the same day ... ?

side note : at best, it shows both console are getting spread support in early 2010
