I'm glad Darksiders outsold it. We Playstation gamers should put up with crappy porting. The companies don't don't lower the price tag for the inferior product

should or shouldn't? i'm confussed. on a side note,  i think SEGA sucks at making games for the PS3. Anyone played IRONMAN? It was a crapy game on the 360 but was even crapyier on the PS3.

If there's any ps3 only owner here who is a Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden fan and is avoiding this altogether because of an inferior version, it's their loss. Yes the x360 version is better but this game is still worth your money. Honest.

What if the x360 version didn't exist and the ps3 version still turned out like it did? Would you still avoid it? Didn't think so..

Actually yes I would still avoid it for several reasons lol. I didn't like the heroine nor the style of the game, good graphics nonetheless. I generally can't stand any game that would have so many loading times. At this point in the gen it's unacceptable. Leave that for PS1 games. Hell I still play Viewtiful Joe from time to time (favorite Kamiya game). So your last 2 questions and final sentence carry little weight for many of us.

Have you played any of the Yakuza games? Sega doesnt make alot of appealing games to me but that series is their best IMO and is one of my all time favorites...and its also exclusive to Playstation so we cant hate Sega for what they've already given us PS3 owners =)

well sega did disappoint...this was not meant to happen in a good console.

After playing the PS3 version for 2 days i have to say that:

- Graphically it looks great, not awesome but great
- Dont judge the game on the prologue "clock tower" segment,, cause when i first played it i was going to break the disc, cause the framerate is maybe 10 there, but you start playing in Station you realize that the framerate is very good.
- Now about loading,,,, i dont get it how sega didnt force us to install the game to the HDD, or at least give us a choice.. cause whenever you put an item you see LOADING, whenver you open the menu LOADING, whenver you pause, LOADING,,, i mean WTF ? SEGA PLEASE PATCH IT AND LET US INSTALL PART OF THE GAME ON THE HDD.

Advice: if you are an exclusive PS3 owners like myself, go buy this game NOW, its that good, and pretend that there's no other superior port, but if you have both consoles go buy the 360 one instead unless there's a patch for install is planned.

That right there is what ultimately caused me to cancel my purchase not the frame rate or graphics

I have to say that loading when pausing is fantastic.

Maybe VGC should do a "10 most stupid technical issues" list?

Totally right. Lets not forget Valkyria Chronicles. Yakuza 3 is coming out in March or April in NA and 4 is about to come out in Japan ( I assume later on in NA). Shenmue was also a great game.

We don't buy games that are done badly on port because if we keep buying games made by crappy developers, they will stay in business.

We don't buy badly made BluRays either, ya know the DVDs that were ripped into a BluRay disc and sold for $30 by the movie houses, while BluRays made from remastered versions of the original film layed in with AVC video encoding and 7.1 Lossless HD sound are the ones we pick up and are worth every penny.

The orignal "5th Element" BluRay - CRAP!
"District 9" BluRay - FNING AWESOME

Yeap Sega has its ups and downs just like any other dev.  Yakuza 3 and 4 are both coming out in March, in their respective region of course.  I cant wait for those games and hopefully Yakuza 3 will be sucessful enough thatll make Sega bring Yakuza 4 to NA and EU.  Shenmue was a great game indeed but i cant help but think that with the sucess of Yakuza Sega wont make another Shenmue.

With all the A list games coming out this quarter, I'm not sure why any PS3 exclusive gamer would spend the $60 on a somewhat broken (or at least flawed) port of an excellent Xbox game.

If you were really looking forward to playing it sure; why not? Otherwise, either get the Xbox version if and when you ever pick one up, or just buy the PS3 version later in the year when it's heavily discounted (like around the holiday season).

While it's completely understandable that developers have a very finite amount of time and resources to get those ports to reach near parity, the consumer always has the final say in what they are willing to pay for the end product by putting off the purchase until discounted, assuming they are willing to wait.
