Forums - Gaming - Why 3rd party devs are rightfully abandoning the Wii

NJ5 - I've asked the same question over and over again. You've done your best to avoid it multiple times. Too funny!

Are you seeing lots of ads for Monster Hunter 3 and Dragon Quest X for the Wii in the US, assuming that's where you are? I'm not here in the UK. I haven't seen a single ad for either in fact. You posted those games in response to me asking for AAA titles that WERE ALSO ADVERTISED WELL. The fact that those are the best games you could come up with speaks volumes. It really does. Keep clutching at those straws!

I didn't see any ads for GTA IV here in Hungary, therefore it is not a well-advertised AAA game.

Again, see what I did there?

Wait, so I ask for AAA titles that have been well advertised, you then respond using a huge font saying Dragon Quest X, then you follow that up by saying "true, it was not advertised as it's not been launched yet". Hahahaha! Your work here is done alright, assuming your position is VGChartz Village Idiot.

You are just cream of the crop. Ignoring Monster Hunter 3 which was my main example. But it wasn't advertised or launched in the UK, so it doesn't count right?

Is it out in the US? Oh wait - no, no it's not. It's only been released in Japan. Your main example of a "AAA title that's been well advertised" then, is a game that appeals mostly to Japanese gamers that's only been released in Japan and has only been advertised in Japan. Hahaha! Nice one. You're good for a laugh, if nothing else.

Oh, but wait - you had one other example. Oh yeah, but that hasn't been released anywhere and even you say it hasn't been advertised anywhere. LOL! Classic.

I forgot that a game had to be launched in the US to be well advertised.

I bow to your superior knowledge and debating skills.

I have superior debating skills to you.

ME - Name a AAA game that's been well advertised
YOU - Dragon Quest X
ME - That hasn't been advertised!
YOU - Duh! Well it's not even out yet!

You should be on the high school debating team with those top skills. LOL.

As for Monster Hunter, in which part of Japan do you live? How widespread were the ads you saw while being a resident of Japan? Of course, Japan only represents a small section of the gaming community. Even the UK spends more on games per year than Japan, so obviously your example is piss weak, although not as bad as using Dragon Quest X. Hahahaha........

How can they abandon something they haven't taken seriously since the start?? the only game I have seen that have had a budget that of a Nintendo game is Monster Hunter 3 and that game have sold around 1 million in Japan only.

The day 3rd party developers put in 20 million $ in development and 20-40 million $ in advertising on a Wii game then we can talk about why the game didn't sell.

Right now the only Wii games I have seen being advertised on TV is Nintendo games and Segas Mario/Sonic olympic games.

And look at that all those games have sold anything from 3 million to 20+ million.

How can ordinary people who don't roam the internet know what games are released if they don't see any advertises???.

Can a mod please lock this topic ?? it have already attracted one of the worst anti Wii posters ( yeah you know who it is)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Please stop this emotional discussion. None of us will profit.

Good riddance. We don't need all their half assed crappy shovelware polluting our system. Let them all go bankrupt on their high cost HD projects for all I care.

You're saying nothing new here. The question is, what's stopping the devs from spending the cash? They do it with 360 and PS3 games. That's the million dollar question in fact. The one that everyone wants to avoid.
