Even an A+ score allows for ~5-10% fluctuation, as it should.

Exactly! MGS4 and GTAIV were not 10 out of 10's. They had visible flaws. Mass Effect 1 had so many flaws and still got a 9.0 on average. That tells you something about the value in this title.

Any news on who you can and can't have a relationship with in this one.

I was hoping the story would have been better than the first one. That's a bit upsetting. I live for stories in games.

I do, I love awesome stories. I loved the Mass Effect Universe but I felt the story was lacking so I was upset to hear about this. But my main things is about what relationships you can have, because if they added the ones i want then i would totally buy it.

 I mean, this is just one opinion. What if you play the game and think the story is better than the original Mass Effect's? That would make OXM's opinion useless to you. I think if you're a fan of the first, this one looks like it at least deserves a shot, even if you end up hating it.

I don't mind either way, I'm taking the dive. I trust what I get from this dev and from this franchise!

yeah but they said in the first one, "dis is da bestest story in da wurld." (I paraphrased) some posted it earlier in the thread, and i didn't feel that way about the first one and now since they say this it has me worried. I hoped for an even better story than the first. Although, to them it may not be the greatest but to me it could be. Either way it wouldn't be a first day buy then, it's a wait and see.

Take this for instance, if 10 sites review HEAVY RAIN and say the story was superb, and 3 say it blows, that's more incentive for me to check it out myself. If all the major sites start saying Mass Effect 2's story is garbage, or "not as good as the first", then my worry would increase, and even then I'd still be pumped to check it out myself.

My advice, as a story-driven gamer, like myself, give it a shot. Worst case scenario: you'll hate it.

Worst case scenario I'll be out 50 dollars. When it comes out I'll watch some videos of the beginning and then decide.

Oh, I also watched that one video on Heavy Rain talking about it more, and it's storyline gave me chills it seems very intense it made me like it more.
