Awe, I wonder why they say the story is a bit disapointing.. that's my favorite part.

9.5 is as close to perfect as any form of media should get. 10/10 should not exist as everything has flaws. The meltdowns over review scores not being 100% are always entertaining.

Even an A+ score allows for ~5-10% fluctuation, as it should.

Didn't read the review yet, but does it mention anything about the side quests? If so, is it repetitive like ME?

I have heard those were fixed as well.  Haven't read the mag but keep hearing most problems are fixed or changed in some way people found with the first one.

I hope so. The worst thing about ME was the repetitive side quests.
Thanks for replying.

I'm gonna buy it anyway but am looking forward to IGN's video review and Eurogamers written one.

Well I hope they didn't screw that story too much, it was the thing that kept me playing the first one.

^^^ LOL...if you need reviews to get ME2, you probably should just skip it...amazing. I'm pretty excited about this game, and I'm sure I'm going to be playing it, when the Dragon Age Expansion is released.

i feel to see why anybody can buy a game based purely on hype, especially when I'm already online reading reviews

Heck, almost picked up GT for PSP, glad I didn't pick it up blindly

But it's not hype...Mass Effect was one of the best RPGs this generation, so why would you need reviews to judge Mass Effect 2?  Not only that, Bioware has a proven track record, so my point still stands, that if you need reviews to determine if you are going to get ME2, you probably should just skip it...just my opinion.

Don't pay any attention to him.  I bet if it was the new mario or uncharted game no reviews would be needed. Just.. hypocritical if you ask me.

But no, it's an xbox mainstay so you can't just off credentials and developers awesomeness.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Some of the Mass Effect hate is unbelievable.

But it is obvious why it was there. The certainty amongst a couple of people in this thread that the sequel would launch day and date on PS3 has got to have created some resentment amongst those who have been proven wrong.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Hopefully the rest of the critics feel about the same way. The first game was really good and this one looks gorgeous to say the least. I just hope you dont have to wait through the same elevator bullshit again. Jesus, you couldn't even move your character around to pass the time. I really don't think the game will disappoint too many people. I'm not sure how many people read the books that go along with the game, but to my suprise the second book was much less engaging than the first. I hope that is not the same way with the games.
