?  Just what makes the 360 the best console?  This goes out to all the 360 fanboys.  I'm a big Sony fan.  See Sony has so much to offer with it great exclusives and the game quality is spectular.  Then will have free online, blu ray and much more.  With Sony I'm left breathless.  So what makes the 360 better?  I'm definitely considering purchasing one.

  • Best multiplatform games
  • More exclusive DLC
  • Best online service
  • Cross-game chat
  • More comfortable controllers
  • High Definition
  • Easy video streaming/media capabilities
  • Huge install base in the US = likely your friends will have them
  • Standardized achievements for games
  • Bioware games
  • Cheapest console SKU on the market

In order from highlighted:

  • Debatable.
  • Disagree.
  • Both consoles have games that run in 1080p? Advantage PS3 for Bluray Movies.
  • It is very easy to open up windows media player and stream things to PS3.
  • Trophies.
  • Bioware produced Dragon Age: Origins which is on PS3...

He did not ask what he can already do with his PS3.

Its not the best console, simple as that, but being a gamer, 360 does have games I enjoy playing, other then that the 360 does not have much to offer other then a few good exclusives, no WIFI, unless you spend more money, online you have to pay for, no blu-ray, no browser, purchase charge packs for controllers, PS3 upsamples regular dvd, and plays burned dvds , 360 does not, also does not play burned dvds. PS3 you can put what ever size harddrive you want, PS3 has blutooth so you dont have to spend another 60 bucks for a wireless earpiece. There are tons of reasons when you look at it, I don't need a 360 for any of that because I have my PS3, my 360 only plays games every now and then, my back up console. Good luck, Look and see if you want to play any of there games first before wasting money.

There's some things in this post that are just plain wrong. The 360 can upscale DVDs to 1080p. It will also play burned DVDs. You are getting caught up in accessories, rather than what the console does in terms of features and how the games perform. I can buy a wireless N adapter for my 360 and stream full 1080p video. Is there a wireless N option for the PS3? No, so you won't be streaming 1080p video wirelessly without it buffering and skipping. It really depends what you want, but if you're into gaming, the PS3 doesn't do anything better than the 360. If having a Blu-Ray player is as important as gaming, then of course the PS3 is a better buy, but not everyone wants that. I didn't. I buy my games machine primarily to play games.

@youarebadatgames - There is absolutely no point in comparing what PSN might be like in the future with what Live is like now. If I'd have believed everything I've read on forums, cross-game chat has been coming "any time now" to the PS3 for the last 2 years, but it still isn't here. Until PSN improves, it's still missing cross game chat, party mode, voice messaging, private voice chat, 6 chat channels that you can switch between when you like, 1 Vs. 100, demos of every downloadable game, a rep system, an integrated reporting system and a bunch of other stuff.

@hardydar if hes wrong with fact, so are you.

OT: Yeah its about your personal choice. If I had loadz of spare cash i would have bought a 360, but I don't so...

Whether PSN is better is not debatable. It just isn't. We can draw up lists of features and clearly see that. In fact, I've already done that. PSN is very bare bones compared to Live. The only thing that is debatable is whether you use the extra features that Live offers and consider them worth paying for. As they only cost £2 a month (less than the price of 1 pint of beer), I definitely do.

As for 1080p, the 360 can upscale all games to 1080p. The PS3 can't, so the 360 wins there.

Not every PS3 game has trophies. They are mandatory now, but there are still loads of old games that don't have them. The 360 has had them from launch. Not every PS3 game has voice chat for online multiplayer either and the invites system in some games sucks. Even in COD4 on the PS3, you can only invite other players if they are already playing COD4. There's just no consistency with the PS3.

Controller preference is personal opinion of course and Bioware games may be available on both consoles, but you'll find more of them on the 360.

Show me one fact that I've posted that's incorrect. You won't find one.

if your planning on getting one then heres one thing that you need ( if you made this then im pretty sure your getting one) xbox live because thats were all the fun is in xbox if you dont have a gold membership then you cant do half the incredible things that the xbox has to offer with out live its pretty dull, i would say buy it for the fps keep the rpg's to sony with the exeaption of mass effect
