Gameindustry.biz conducted a poll (i'm presuming of their users) as to what they thought the best-selling games of 2010 would be. Here were there results
Games expected to be the biggest sellers in 2010
- 1. Halo: Reach
- 2. Final Fantasy XIII
- 3. StarCraft II
- 4. Call of Duty 7
- 5. FIFA 11
- 6. BioShock 2
- 7. Mass Effect 2
- 8. God of War III
- 9. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- 10. Gran Turismo 5
Even if we ignore the fact that the list is utterly devoid of Nintendo titles, i think their ordering is somewhat off. Gran Turismo 5 behind God of War III and BioShock 2? No way. Mass Effect 1 on 360 only did 2 million, and even if we add in PC, that's still not enough to match what GT5 is capable of, and certainly isn't going to do a thing against something like Heart Gold/Soul Silver. Hell, i'd imagine Modern Warfare 2, even within this year alone, is going to put it ahead of BioShock 2
