Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The biking game in Sports Resort blows.

It didn't have to blow. Oh sure it's odd that they expect you to peddle a bike with your hands, but the motion and gameplay is actually quite fun.

So why does it blow? It blows because I don't get to spend my time peddling and steering and watching my opponents to see when to draft and when to overtake. It blows because I spend all my time trying to peddle slowly because my hearts keep dropping. It seems like no matter what I do, the moment I start to have any fun there's sweat pouring off my dude and I'm at risk of stopping cold in my tracks. Wouldn't a far better guage of running out of breath be... oh I don't know, when you actually run out of breath!?

And if the notion was to make it so grandpa could play too, then why not just give us an option? it'd be fine if I could turn it off and play the game the way I'd like to.

As it stands, I'll occasionally give it another go, but biking will easily be the least played out of all the games. Because as far as I can tell, it's the only one that spends most of the time not letting you play it.

Meh. I'd run out of breath by biking up a mountain LONG before I ran out of breath doing the bike motion. In fact, I don't think I'd ever run out of breath doing that. My arms would start to hurt after a while, though.

at least its one of the easiest sports to get all the stamps.

why are you surprised? Didn't you play the rest of the game?

@ jarypo - The rest of the game is great. Sword play kicks ass, archery by far the best ever implement of motion control on any game ever, kayaking is frantic, table tennis is perfectly controlled and fun, frisbee is challenging, golf and bowling are improvements on the original and just about every other game is fun. The only difference is that biking has the stupid limitation on letting you play it.

Why haven't we got an accessory add-on for biking? Something to strap to our legs?

How about this?

We buy a threadmill and a bike.
We then strap the wiimote/chuk to our legs.
We then ride the bike on the threadmill.

Awesome!

Have any of you seen my brain around here?

1. There is already a fitness bike with a game already in development for the Wii

2. EA fitness already comes with a leg strap that has a pocket for the Nunchuck. It's used to track Squats and a gamer's legs as the Jog around the track in the track and field exercises.

3. This is an accident waiting to happen. Hope you have insurance

4. Yes, I saw your brain but a Zombie was eating it. He seemed to be really enjoying it so I decided not to interrupt the guy.

    Besides, it's Finders Keepers right!

I actually loved the biking game. Reminded me a lot of Cross Country meets and Mario Kart. Co-op is so frantic, though....

The good news is that all the other sports are awesome.

I prefer the biking in Wii Fit Plus. It's on the same island, but the only heart you must check is your own. And it's open world driving instead of given tracks.
