It's awesome. Essentially it's what HOME should have been. Take away 80% of Home and you have got rid of needless crap and left with things like this. It's good to see this. Great idea M$. This will have alot of people using it. Live has gone into overload in the last 2 months. With Last.FM essentially making purchasing songs redundant for me as well as Facebook, and the ever impressive Zune videos section. It's gone from being great to Fuc*ing amazing. I spend so much time on Live now. I actually couldn't live without it. It's on more than my internet. LOL.

Another possibility instead of that is if you spend 400 microsoft points playing a game (or some amount) you end up owning a copy of the game.

Home is a way for people to meet new people. Exactly how does GAME ROOM work like this? It looks like an rich man's version of the Wii virtual console, complete with enabling friends to join you. I was on Home recently, and it had a Namco arcade there that looks like the way GAME ROOM is set up.
What I don't see is a meeting place for people to meet new people over Live, like Home has.
home is much different, this is just games but you are charged i wont be using this

What has HOME got to do with this? I don't get it. I've seen the same comments on several sites now. This service will offer 1,000 classic arcade and old school console games over the next 3 years. You can buy the games or pay per play (pretty silly when they're only £2 each to buy IMO) and invite friends into your game room to play your games. Can someone explain how this is like HOME? HOME has a handful of arcade cabinets sprinkled about, but there's no online multiplayer, no proper leaderboards, no trophies, no cross-platform support with the PC, there's not gonna be 1,000 titles, and you have to queue up to play them. In Game Room, you don't walk about with your avatar like you do in HOME either. The two are not even close to being alike. This is all about gaming.
As for being charged, why shouldn't you be? There have been old school games on XBLA since it first started, with games like Frogger and Time Pilot and they're 400 MS Points each. These are 240 each if you want the 360 version only.
Just think of this as the "value priced" side of the xbla. That's how I'm starting to see it. Actually if you look on xbla now, you can play hasbro family game night which is similar to this concept... But game room games will be cheaper, you can share them, the selection will be greater, and more people will give a shit about it.
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

The meeting part of Home is peadophile heaven. At least that what the news and BBC Watchdog program have said. What I meant was take away meeting virtual computer generated images of peoples minds and you have the best parts of home. The different rooms. Essentially Game Room is what Live is best at. Other rooms can be added without random people after your kids. Live is completely social already. Why have a place where anyone can see your username. That seems a security risk.

star raiders never was an arcade game, so it'd have to be the A8/5200 or 2600 version and given how inconsequential it'd be for releasing the game I can't see any reason they would have the 2600 version over the computer version also outlaw is a lightgun game, seems kind of odd for the service

Atari 2600 version of Star Raiders is in there. Also Outlaw is NOT a lightgun game. It is an Atari cowboy vs cowboy game, which is a bit like tank.
